Hot Stone Massage(Coming Soon)

What is Hot Stone Massage?

Hot Stone Massage is a type of massage that is done using hot volcanic stones. These stones were created many years ago from liquid lava and have the ability to store heat as well as to channel it to the areas of the body where the massage takes place.

Hot stone therapy is found in the history of ancient peoples and cultures. Not only the Chinese but also the shamans around the world have been using hot stones for thousands of years for their healing properties. This knowledge has now been adapted to the needs of modern man and serves to strengthen our physical and emotional balance.

Hot Stone Massage is performed either as a complete full body massage or as a partial massage to treat a specific area. It can be combined with a relaxing massage, a sports or a therapeutic massage according to the needs of the patient.

Depending on the field of application, stones of different sizes and textures are used. The size of the stone for massage depends on the size of the muscle groups. The massage with the stones is done carefully without disturbing manipulations or interruptions. Slow and pleasant movements in combination with the use of precious essential oils have a positive effect on the parasympathetic system. The goal is the complete relaxation and release of muscle and mental tension.

Hot Stone Massage is done with stones that are heated in a water bath, a special heating device, at 50 to 60 degrees Celsius. The main advantage of the heat that is transferred to the stones is the expansion of the blood vessels, which in turn leads to better blood circulation. The resulting optimized perspiration leads to better oxygenation of cells and stimulates lymphatic activity.

Other advantages are:

  • Immediate relief from muscle pain

  • Improves the symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders (arthritis, cervical syndrome, back pain, sciatica)

  • Stress reduction

  • Helps with insomnia

  • Strengthening the immune system

  • Activation of the body's metabolism and detoxification

  • Harmonization of mental and physical balance

Hot Stone Massage should be avoided if:

  • Fever

  •  Skin diseases

  • Communicable diseases

  • burns and fresh wounds

  • recent surgeries

  • Cardiovascular diseases (thrombosis, varicose veins, varicose veins)

  • Diabetics should also be alerted, as the feeling of cold / heat is often disturbed. This also applies to severe neuropathy.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu in Japanese means pressure with the fingers.

The official definition of Shiatsu given by the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Japan is as follows: "Shiatsu is a method of working on the human body, where the thumb, fingers and palms, without the use of any tools, are applied pressure, to correct internal dysfunctions, to promote and maintain health and to cure various diseases ".

Shiatsu is a natural health treatment that is theoretically based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of the oldest healing methods. The pressures on the body are exerted not only on the acupuncture points, but along the entire length of the energy channels or otherwise meridians.

Any discomfort, symptom or illness indicates, according to shiatsu theory, an imbalance in the vital energy of the individual.

Indicatively shiatsu helps in problems such as:

  • Headaches, back pain, back, shoulders, neck
  • Muscle tension, grip, fatigue or weakness,
  • Anxiety, worry, insomnia, bad mood
  • Disorders of the digestive system
  • Poor circulation, swelling of the limbs
  • Respiratory disorders
  • Gynecological disorders
